When men are in love (in a healthy relationship) they feel safe, and when they feel safe, they are more ready to show their sweeter, gentler, and vulnerable sides. Deep down everybody wants to show those sides—keeping walls up, staying guarded, and protecting oneself is exhausting! Nobody enjoys being closed off. Most people are just waiting to meet that one person who makes them feel totally okay relaxing in their love. And when men do this, their entire vibe can change—for the better. Here are ways men become softer when they’re in love. [caption id="attachment_617513" align="alignleft" width="500"] Image Source: Shutterstock[/caption]

They love all little creatures

When men are in love, something inside of them just opens up to all things that are loving in the world—like happy, giggling babies, and snuggly puppies. You’ll notice that a man in love pays more attention to the puppy that wants his attention, or the baby in the room.   [caption id="attachment_712479" align="alignleft" width="420"] Shutterstock[/caption]

They speak softer

When a guy is totally gaga for his girlfriend, he starts speaking in softer tones. I don’t only mean baby voice—I mean they have a gentler manner of speaking with everyone they talk to, from friends to colleagues.

They’re comfortable with you crying

A crying woman can be a very scary thing for a man. But when a man is in love with you, when you cry, he actually feels closer to you (unless he made you cry—that’s another matter). If you’re willing to cry in front of your partner who loves you about stress in your life, he won’t respond with fear but rather with empathy and a desire to help.       [caption id="attachment_608299" align="alignleft" width="420"] Corbis[/caption]

They cry more

Once a man dives into love, he opens the floodgates of emotions. Men have a tendency to keep their feelings locked up, but once they let one, big one out (aka love) the others come rushing with it. Don’t be surprised if your man in love starts crying more over everything, like moving documentaries, or the announcement that his friend is expecting a child.         [caption id="attachment_717489" align="alignleft" width="500"] Credit: Shutterstock[/caption]

They become nurturing

Those family-building chemicals and hormones kick in when a man is in love. He can’t help but feel a chemical bond to the woman he loves, and this comes with an urge to protect her. That’s why men in love become more nurturing, and do things like remembering to pick up your favorite ice cream from the store, or cooking for you when you’re exhausted.           [caption id="attachment_609325" align="alignleft" width="500"] Image Source: Shutterstock[/caption]

They’re sweeter to all women

When a man becomes deeply bonded to one woman, he becomes a little more connected to all women. A man in love becomes more in-tune to the feelings and needs of other women in his life, like his mother or female colleagues.     [caption id="attachment_719155" align="alignleft" width="420"] Image Source: Shutterstock[/caption]

They want to capture the moment

When a man isn’t in love with you, he might shy away from taking photos with you. When a man is in love with you, you’ll find that he is the one asking strangers to take a picture of you two, or pulling the car over to take a selfie in front of the sunset.         [caption id="attachment_699728" align="alignleft" width="468"] Image Source: Shutterstock[/caption]

They say how they feel often

Expressing your feelings feels damn good—a fact that women mostly figure out at a young age, but men can be restricted from experiencing. When a man is in love, and feels safe telling you he loves you several times a day, he winds up feeling safe telling you about a lot of other feelings.             [caption id="attachment_694873" align="alignleft" width="417"] Corbis Images[/caption]

They ask for emotional support

Guys don’t like to show what they perceive as weakness, so they often won’t ask for emotional support when they need it. They also don’t want to start to be dependent on the emotional support of someone who they aren’t sure will stick around. But when they find that one woman they want to spend forever with, they start saying things like, “Can you just come snuggle me? I had a bad day.”     [caption id="attachment_618712" align="alignleft" width="630"] Corbis Images[/caption]

They give emotional support

When a man is truly in love, he becomes pretty good at giving emotional support. Men who aren’t in love with you may try to give you emotional support, but they’re doing it in more a textbook fashion. When a man loves you, his support comes from his heart and it just feels different. [caption id="attachment_220080" align="alignleft" width="500"]"Couple having coffee pf" Shutterstock.com[/caption]

They become sentimental

Men in love start holding onto parking validations from the hotel you stayed at over the summer, and they start playing your favorite music when you’re away, just because they miss you (even if they don’t like the music).     [caption id="attachment_610905" align="alignleft" width="420"] Corbis[/caption]

They become more intuitive

Perhaps a woman’s intuition passes onto her partner when they’re deeply in love because men seem to become more intuitive about people and circumstances when they’ve found the one.             [caption id="attachment_827800" align="alignleft" width="600"]Am I Supposed To Be This... Sex becomes emotional

A man who isn’t in love might be down to have sex with his girlfriend at any given moment. But once love is involved, don’t be shocked if your partner actually says, “Can we wait to have sex? We’ve barely had the chance to talk today!”             [caption id="attachment_712463" align="alignleft" width="420"] Image Source: Shutterstock[/caption]

Caring about your beauty habits

When a man is all in with you, he just finds everything you do endearing and fascinating. So he may actually sit in the bathroom with you while you do your makeup, giving his two cents on his favorite eye shadow and asking you to explain what a crimper is.
